    Detailed item info
BEZALEL RABAN ART NOUVEAU BIBLE PRINT SONG HEBREW King Solomon Jewish Palestine
    Description
This is the Bezalel published Song of Songs with the illustrations of the Betzalel instructor Ze'ev Raban. Binding is fake leather with a
metal engraving of the Queen of Sheba (who some say is the woman whom King Solomon paid tribute in this Biblical book) on the cover.
As you can see they were made according to the times in which Raban lived, ie Art Nouveau style, originally in the late 1920s - 30's, but this particular edition was printed in Israel in the late 1940's by Shulamith publishing
    .
The prints look much better in real life than they do in the scans.
MEASUREMENTS: Each print measures about 7 1/4 x 5  inches = 18.5 x 12 cm.  There are altogether 26 prints of some great Art Noveau art!
These prints were sold (when broken up) for EACH in a Jerusalem art gallery on King George street!
CONDITION: Owners signature, some worm holes in inner back cover which has been treated and not noticeable. Small stain on one of the last pages.
