Here is a Cummins Onan Commercial SD 7.5K Diesel Generator
Was told this is the much better commercial version, that was removed from either a Pierce Fire Truck or a Phone Company Service Truck with a Bucket Lift. A much better version than what an RV would of used.
Engine is a Kubota D1105
Hour meter has about 25XX
I purchased it and had intentions to make it a mobile home style generator.
I removed the engine, stripped the engine fully down for a full rebuild.
- Engine block was bored, honed & decked
- Crank was mic’d & polished
- Connecting rods were torqued checked
- Head was fully rebuilt with all new OE valve parts, decked, full valve job
All parts were prepped and hot tanked
Parts used were all NÉW OEM Kubota and include:
3 - .25mm Piston and Ring Kits
1 - Main Bearing Kit STD.
3 - Connecting Rod Bearings STD.
1 - Full Gasket Set
1 - Front Seal
1 - Rear Main Seal
3 - Glow Plugs
3 - Injectors
1 - Valve Train Kit
1 - Thermostat
1 - Bypass Hose
Engine was professionally rebuilt with all the above new parts, test run and set back into generator frame
That’s as far as this project made it, never finished hooking it up and has been sitting unfinished for a little while. Generator is untested by me, was taken out of service due to the engine side as far as I know.
This package would work great if you have the same generator and needed a rebuilt engine.
As a person that manages a Diesel engine rebuilding company, the price to rebuild these engines are in the 5,500 range. Engine was never painted, hence the surface rust from the hot tanked components.
