    Ludwig Schwerin
    (born July 10, 1897 in Buchen (Odenwald) † 2 July 1983 in Ramat Gan / Israel) was a painter, graphic artist and book illustrator.
    He studied at the Art Academy in Karlsruhe and then worked in Munich and Berlin. In 1938 he fled from Germany to Palestine via Switzerland.
    Schwerin painted mainly portraits (such as Stefan Zweig) and landscapes. He also illustrated many books, often with sketches of scenery and was considered one of the most important Israeli painters in the second half of the 20th Century.

    (1901–1990), Hebrew art critic and poet. Talphir was born in Stanislav, Galicia, and after teaching in secondary schools in Vilna and Zamosc immigrated to Palestine in 1925, and from 1932 became editor of Gazit, a periodical for art and literature.
