All of our modular plug crimping tools work with standardized modular plugs. Our economy modular plugs crimping tools (#24000 and #24010) ship by first class mail, and our professional crimping tools (#24002 and #24005) ship by priority mail due to weight. We also have a few RJ-22 and RJ-48 economy crimping tools (not listed here). If you have a need, just let us know, and we'll set up a separate sale for you.

RJ-45 modular plugs are commonly used for Cat 3, Cat 5, Cat 6, Cat 7, and Cat 8 networking wires, but can be used for a variety of applications. 24002 - Professional RJ-22 / RJ-11 / RJ-12 / RJ-45 Crimping Tool - (Blue Handles)

This tool is used by Professionals, or for people who want a quality tool that can be used for many years to come. This tool is slightly different then the #24005 tool. This tool has a plastic cage where you would insert the modular plugs. The advantage to the plastic cage is that it is easier to insert the modular plug, and the disadvantage is that it will wear out faster then the metal cage used on the #24005. This tool also requires slightly more energy to crimp the modular plug then the #24005. It crimps most types of modular plugs. It crimps RJ-22 modular plugs for coiled telephone handset cords. It crimps RJ-11 and RJ-12 modular plugs. RJ-11 and RJ-12 modular plugs are commonly used for telephone applications.

24005 - Professional RJ-22 / RJ-11 / RJ-12 / RJ-45 Crimping Tool - (Orange Handles)

This tool is used by Professionals, or for people who want a quality tool that can be used for many years to come. It is the best known crimping tool on the market, and is preferred by most professionals.
This tool is slightly different then the #24002 tool. This tool has a metal cage where you would insert the modular plugs. The advantage to the metal cage is that it will not wear out the cage, and the disadvantage is that it is harder to insert the modular plug. One other advantage is that this tool takes less energy to crimp the modular plug. This is important if you are crimping many modular plugs.
