In August 1952 Grunewald attacked Dr. Israel Kastner, a Zionist activist in Budapest and a member of the Rescue and Rescue Committee in Budapest during the Holocaust, in which Kasztner conducted contacts with Adolf Eichmann and Kurt Becker, head of the economic department of the SS, To the German occupation area for ten thousand trucks and for merchandise (a program called "goods for blood").
Grinwald dedicated a complete pamphlet to Kasztner. He was accused of collaborating with the Nazis and of abandoning Hungary's Jews to death during the Holocaust. In his article, Gruenwald wrote: "For three years I have waited for this moment to prosecute this career hunter, who enjoys Hitler's murder ... On the basis of tricks and cooperation with the Nazis ... I see him as an indirect murderer of my dear brothers ..."
Mapai and the government are confused by the harsh accusations of Gruenwald against Kasztner, which were indirect charges against the Jewish Agency, which acted Kasztner during the Holocaust Attorney General Haim Cohen, and Minister Dov Joseph, in his office, Kasztner, persuaded Kasztner to file an official complaint against Grinwald, Because they believed that a public figure could not continue his post without commenting on accusations like those thrown by Greenwald.
In the trial, which in its various incarnations lasted for about four years, Kasztner actually accuses the defendant, until the trial received the nickname "Kasztner trial." In June 1955, the District Court acquitted Gruenwald of all but one charge for which Grinwald was fined a symbolic fine of one pound. Judge Halevy found no evidence of Greenwald's accusation that Kasztner was taken from the money of the hands of Kurt Bachar. On the other hand, Justice Halevy ruled that "Kasztner sold his soul to Satan." On the day after the acquittal, the Acting Attorney General announced that the state would appeal the ruling, and indeed within two months of the ruling, on 21 August, Grunwald was acquitted.
About two years later, on March 4, 1957, while hearing the appeal continued in the Supreme Court, Israel Kastner was murdered by a young Jew, near his home in Tel Aviv.
