Description
For sale is an NOS Kuwahara Mr. Big freestyle frame circa 2000. These frames were designed in Canada, and approximately 100 were hand-made in Japan before Kuwahara realized that they were flying into the red Kamikaze-style. Kuwahara's labor was simply too skilled and too valuable to devote to making BMX frames of this quality given the price point at that time. It is in mint condition other than a few factory blemishes in the chrome on the rear dropout and bottom bracket. This frame is so rare that even Gretzky is in awe (although he is just a bystander and is not included). I own a small mountain of vintage Haros, Redlines, Skyways, etc., and whatever I don't own BMX-wise, I have at least had access to over time. This is the only Kuwahara Mr. Big frame that I have ever actually seen in person, and it is a truly unique work of art. Out of over 1400 listings of Kuwaharas in the BMX Museum, there are only two Mr. Bigs. I don't generally export frames, but I am willing to make an exception in this case - particularly to Canada or Japan as a nod to heritage. Insured domestic Priority shipping will be 8 to the lower 48 states based on a 12 lb package measuring 12x12x40.
Just to be clear about this listing and any other listing of mine: I do not offer Anniversary editions, Heritage models, Lineage products, REPOPs, clones, fakes or any other spurious items. All of my BMX items, whether new or used, are authentic. If I sell an item that has ever been repainted or re-chromed in its lifetime, I will state so clearly so that there is no misunderstanding.
