This is one of a set of postcards of a series of 12 paintings by Adalbert Hub of a group of (somewhat stereotypically portrayed) Jewish businessman who are visiting the famous Leipziger Messe (Trade Fair) in the early 1920's. The paintings follow them in various locations as they arrive, conduct business, socialize, relax, check out and depart.
Printed by Dr. Trenkler & Co. The Leipzig-Stötteritz firm of Dr. Trenkler Co. was a major printer in Leipzig and was active at the Eichstädtstrasse location printed on the postcard between 1904 and the company’s bankruptcy in 1928.
